Privacy policy
the Bakkumteo team ("we") runs Bakkumteo (the "site") and takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information the site handles and how.
1. Files you convert
All files you convert on the site are processed only inside your browser. They are not sent to our servers or to any third party. We cannot see which files you convert, and we do not store them.
2. Information we handle
The site has no accounts and does not directly collect personal information such as your name or contact details. The following may be processed:
- Access logs: the hosting provider may automatically record your IP address, browser type and time of access for security and operations.
- Emails you send us: if you contact us, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to reply and delete them without delay once done.
- Tool downloads: when you merge PDFs, convert PDFs to images or convert HEIC, your browser downloads the conversion tool from public CDNs (cdnjs, jsDelivr). The CDN operators may keep ordinary access logs such as IP addresses, but your files are not transmitted. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
- Language choice: if you choose a language from the menu, your choice is saved in your browser (a cookie and local storage named bkt-lang) so we can show that language next time. It contains nothing else.
- Cookies: cookies may be used for advertising, as described in section 3.
3. Advertising and cookies
The site may show ads through Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized ads at www.aboutads.info.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the converters keep working without them.
4. Retention
Information we receive directly (emails) is deleted without delay once its purpose is fulfilled. Information handled by the hosting and advertising providers is governed by their own policies.
5. Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop processing it. Contact us at the address below and we will act on it without delay.
